Actuarial Administrative Intern
Convyta is a dynamic, growing firm that provides third-party pension and benefits administration services, while giving expert advice on pension plans, investments, group benefits, and other actuarial matters.
Working closely with plan members and Trustees, we are committed to delivering accurate plan administration and high-quality member service. Our multidisciplinary team supports a range of negotiated cost pension and benefit plans, with a focus on clarity, precision, and attention to detail.
We are currently seeking to fill an Actuarial Administrative Intern position for the upcoming Summer and Fall semesters (May to December 2026). This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting pension administration and data functions, including assisting with calculations, preparing valuation data extracts, supporting external actuarial requests, and contributing to year-end reporting. The successful candidate will also participate in day-to-day administrative work, work with large datasets, and develop practical knowledge of core pension calculations across multiple client plans.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or completed, a Bachelor’s degree program in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam is an asset
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to explain calculations clearly and concisely
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Knowledge of pension plans or group benefit plans considered an asset
Duties
- Managing data inputs and performing analytical reviews
- Preparing and analyzing data sets to support plan administration
- Provide actuarial support and peer review for pension calculations across multiple clients
- Assist pension administrators with complex, large-dollar, and special-case calculations
- Prepare and review valuation data, annual statement data, and related data extracts
- Assist with reconciliation of remittance and contribution data
- Support year-end reporting processes
- Assist with special projects such as plan wind-ups, missing member searches, and new client implementations
- Act as a resource to team leads in reviewing and responding to external actuarial requests
Compensation Range
$3,600 – $4,000 per month (depending on experience, professional exams passed and school terms completed)
